In the heart of Lakewood, WA, a musical revolution is quietly brewing. Enter lostinlkwd!, a genre-blending trio who are capturing attention with their innovative approach to hip-hop and pop. The group, comprised of artists Sk8bord B (formerly known as Revert) and 4stro F4me (pronounced Astro Fame), with the creative prowess of producer Baller Beatz, has been redefining their sound and presence in the music industry. Their evolution from the original name, SPILT TEA, to lostinlkwd! marks a pivotal shift, reflecting their journey and deep connection to their roots. 

The journey from SPILT TEA to lostinlkwd! wasn't just a name change; it was a transformation. “We decided to rebrand to really give our listeners an inside on where we’re from and who we are,” says Sk8bord B. “We are just a couple of lost boys from Lakewood, trying to find our way. It felt like a necessary move to really push our brand.”

The roots of lostinlkwd! run deep. 4stro F4me's journey began as a young drummer and evolved through personal trials and tribulations, including the heart-wrenching loss of his infant son to SIDS.

For Sk8bord B, the path started with writing his first rap in third grade and grew through skateboarding and freestyling with friends. Their shared experiences and individual histories melded to create a sound that's both personal and universally relatable.

They have achieved a number of milestones since gaining notable radio play during the Seahawks season in 2021, which helped build their initial momentum. Their debut aat Nectar Lounge in the summer of 2022 marked a significant step forward as a group. Since then, they’ve reached impressive achievements, including over a million streams across various platforms and growing recognition in the music scene.

Lostinlkwd!'s music is a vibrant mix of pop, rap, and alternative, inspired by a diverse range of artists. The duo’s creativity isn’t just limited to their influences; they also draw from their environment and experiences, allowing their music to reflect both personal and broader societal themes. “A lot of our top influences inspire us to make new sounds OUR WAY. The thing about music is that it always comes from something. There’s almost nothing that you haven’t heard to some degree. Our style is mostly around the pop, rap, and alternative genres, but we are curious creatures that try to explore music outside of what we are used to.”

Their songwriting and production process is as eclectic as their influences. "It really depends on the song," Sk8bord B shares. "Sometimes we start with a chorus, or we freestyle until we hit on a melody that feels right." Their collaboration with Baller Beatz involves a mix of inspiration and spontaneity, letting the music evolve organically.

Lostinlkwd! believes that music is a powerful force in society, capable of summarizing life's complexities in just a few minutes. "With social media, like Tiktok, music heavily influences public opinion. Look at the Gaza war, that’s some heavy stuff going on, and music brings awareness to people that aren’t in the loop with what’s going on around them,” 4stro F4me says. Their aim is for listeners to internalize their music, finding personal resonance and solace in the lyrics and beats.

Looking ahead, the trio is focused on further developing their sound and connecting with a wider audience. They’re also open to finding the right record deal to elevate their music career. Their advice to aspiring musicians is simple but powerful: "Don’t be afraid to jump in and just create. A lot of times, artists make excuses like how they are financially going to make music, but you gotta cut the excuses and make sacrifices where you can. If you want it, go get it. 

As lostinlkwd! continues to make waves in the music scene, they promise even more exciting developments on the horizon. Their recent releases—“Right Now,” which debuted in January 2024, and their newly launched album, "SPILT." in May 2024—highlight their dedication to pushing creative boundaries and venturing into new musical realms. These projects are set to captivate audiences further and strengthen their presence in the industry.
